Menopause care starts with a conversation.

Discuss perimenopause, menopause and changes in your health with Dr Hanlie Lottering. Your consultation provides time to review your concerns and explore appropriate management options.

Book directly with reception, or use the menopause quiz below to help organise your questions before an appointment.

What your consultation may cover

Symptoms and changes

Discuss menstrual changes, hot flushes, sleep, mood, concentration, intimate discomfort and other concerns affecting your daily life.

Your medical history

Review your health history, current medicines and relevant results. An examination or further investigations may be recommended where appropriate.

Management options

Discuss suitable options, their potential benefits and risks, your preferences and whether follow-up or referral is appropriate.

Care based on your individual assessment.

Your appointment begins with your concerns and how they affect your life. Dr Lottering will consider your symptoms alongside your medical history and overall health.

A consultation does not automatically lead to hormone treatment, blood tests or a particular prescription. Recommendations depend on your assessment and clinical suitability.

You will have an opportunity to ask questions, discuss costs and consider the next steps in your care.

Optional before your appointment

Take the menopause quiz.

Use the quiz to reflect on your concerns and prepare questions for a consultation. You can also book directly without completing it.

This quiz does not diagnose perimenopause or menopause and does not replace a medical assessment. Please review our privacy policy before submitting personal information.

Before your appointment

  • Note your main concerns and when they started.
  • Bring a medication and supplement list, including doses.
  • Bring relevant previous results or medical reports.
  • Bring cycle or symptom records if you already keep them.
  • Write down the questions you would like to discuss.

You do not need to arrange new blood tests unless your treating doctor has advised you to do so.

Common questions

What does the first consultation cost?

The initial menopause consultation costs R950 and lasts 45 minutes. Tests, medication and subsequent appointments are charged separately where applicable.

Do I need to complete the quiz before booking?

No. The quiz is optional. You can call or WhatsApp reception to book directly.

Can the quiz tell me whether I am in menopause?

No. The quiz cannot confirm a diagnosis or determine which treatment is suitable. Discuss your concerns with a doctor for an individual assessment.

Do I need hormone tests before my consultation?

Tests are not automatically required. Bring existing relevant results. Dr Lottering will advise whether further investigations are appropriate.

Will I automatically be prescribed hormone treatment?

No. Treatment depends on your assessment, medical history, preferences and clinical suitability. If treatment is considered, its potential benefits, risks and monitoring requirements will be discussed.

How do I book?
